Fashion Design Capstone Project

Thomas Tan

Senior Fashion Designer (Worked with GAP, A&F, and more)
Thomas is a designer who has extensive experience in the global apparel manufacturing and retail arena. He started his career working for local retailers, assistant stylist, textile designer and had been a designer with a renowned transnational apparel manufacturer, doing cut & sew knits, and have worked with retailers and brands such as Gap, Macy’s, Dockers, Target, JC Penny, Sears, Wal-mart, CK Calvin Klein, Polo Ralph Lauren, Abercrombie & Fitch etc.

Tanya Tan

Graphic Design Expert & CLO-3D Specialist
Well-versed in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator Indesign, and CLO-3D, Tanya is a graphic design expert with more than 3 decades of experience in the creative industry. Some of her clients include Ministry of Manpower, OCBC Bank, The Trade Development Board, Halvec Laboratories, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Thermo Fisher Scientific and Avery Dennison.

Head Merchandiser & Textile Specialist
Ashley started her professional career in CAD Pattern Development and Material Optimisation, producing quality men’s shirts for Brooks Brothers, Arrow, etc. She subquently advanced her career in the area of Research & Development, Merchandising, Production planning and Control. She has also worked with clients such as  Polo Ralph Lauren, Timberland and Tommy Hilfiger.

Admissions Requirements

Before you apply, click here to check admissions requirements and ensure that you're prepared for our Diploma!

Singapore/PR Students:
Aged 16 years and above
Possess at least 3 GCE 'O' Level credits with a minimum of C6 incl. English and Mathematics
OR ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
OR WSQ Advanced Certificate in Fashion Technology
OR TaF.tc's Advanced Certificate

International Students:
Aged 16 years and above
High School Diploma equivalent to GCE ‘O’ Levels with minimum grade C6 for 3 subjects, incl. English and Mathematics
IELTS score 5.5 or TOEFL score 600

ALL Students are required to have basic computing skills - i.e. able to turn on the laptop, use the mouse, drag and drop files, use online search engines for research; and be a competent user of Microsoft Office.

Do I need any background knowledge about the Fashion Industry?

Not at all! You can enrol for our Diploma programme without any prior experience, as long as you have a passion for fashion!

Where will the Diploma be held?

The Diploma will be done both online via Zoom, and offline at Central Plaza (Tiong Bahru MRT).

How much is the full Diploma programme?

The cost of the Apparel Design Diploma is S$6,943.75 for Singaporeans and PRs, and S$2,679.75 for Singaporeans above 40 years old.

Will I get a certificate upon completion?

Most definitely! Upon completion of your Diploma programme, you will be awarded a hardcopy WSQ Diploma certificate from us, and you can also access the softcopy via your MySkillsFuture portal!

Is TaF.tc's Diploma recognised?

As an Edutrust and Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) certified training centre, with 11 top fashion schools recognising our Diplomas for accreditation programmes like Paris College Of Art and Atelier Chardon Savard, TaF.tc continues to stay in line with leading national and international fashion industry standards.

How are the courses conducted and assessed?

The courses are conducted in the form of lectures, discussions, demonstrations, case studies, practical exercises, and hands-on activities. You will then be assessed on the work you have done with a final evaluation at the end of every course.

What will the Diploma cover?

The Apparel Design Diploma will be split into 5 main categories which will cover the fundamentals of fashion design, fashion business essentials, digitalising fashion design, dressmaking, and a final capstone project to wrap up everything you’ve learnt in the Diploma.

Are there any pre-requisites?

You can join our Diploma programme if you’re aged 16 years and above and have either: at least 3 GCE 'O' Level credits with a minimum of C6 including English and Mathematics, or ES WSQ Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above, or an Advanced Certificate from TaF.tc.
